AX 101 - THE AMSTEL ACTS

Text by Matthew Turner: The projects is a process of densification and diversification of uses, described in four phases.

Activator: using the central strip as a development spine.

Catalyser: a building containing shops will be developed along this strip, with half sunken car parking, and rooftop gardens

Transformer: some plots are allowed to densify, with housing inserted, and the building code relaxed so that office space can be redesignated as housing. Lots of smaller plots will be created in this process, green space is envisioned on rooftops.

Stabiliser: at the latter stages, the scheme becomes richer, and more mixed use, with infill development happening in the spaces yet developed.
